Lithuanian Game Developers Association is happy to invite you to a meetup dedicated to computer graphics and digital art. This time, we are also celebrating the opening of the Unreal community chapter in Lithuania!

The event will take place in the heart of the old town, at Talent Garden Vilnius.

Our first guest is Ari Arnbjörnsson, who is an Unreal Engine Evangelist at Epic Games. He has 15 years of varied games industry experience ranging from social, web and mobile games to console games. His latest work before joining Epic Games was on Housemarque’s BAFTA-winning game Returnal for PlayStation 5.
Ari will talk about various ways to use Unreal Engine in different creative industries: game development, movies, TV production and others.

Our second guest is James Doyle, originally from New Zealand, who has over a decade of experience in both the film and gaming industries. He is an art director and sculptor who is deeply committed to the art of storytelling and has worked with renowned companies such as Weta Digital, Weta Workshop, A44 Games, and RiffRaff Games. Whether it’s through the lens of a camera or the canvas of a game engine, James relishes the opportunity to breathe life into narratives, blending artistry and technology to forge unforgettable experiences.
James’ session will cover experiences in various industries, the importance of creativity and adaptability, commonalities and differences, as well as the most important transferable skills.

Our final guest is Marius Narbutaitis, a VFX artist and co-founder of Matima Studio in Klaipėda. He will unravel the captivating story of launching an indie game development studio: banding together a group of passionate freelancers and sharing a common passion for creating games. Gain firsthand insights into the artistry, trials, and lessons learned that have shaped their studio. Peek behind the scenes of indie game development and be inspired by the triumphs born from adversity!

After the talks, we’ll have a chance to play Matima’s upcoming game Tempo Punk and hopefully more Unreal Engine projects!
