DESCRIPTION:The last Kaunas Game Developers meetup of this spring season will be held on May 14 at Ąžuolynas library. \nThis time around\, we’d like to do something exciting for the Kaunas Game Developers community and invite everyone who is interested to present their games in front of the audience. It can be a great opportunity to get feedback from fellow game devs\, get excited about each others projects and maybe even find some potential teammates to work with! \nThe format will be very similar to the usual meetups we had in the Ąžuolynas library throughout the year – the only difference being that the whole meetup will be dedicated to your projects! Each presenter will have up to 20 minutes to showcase their game on the stage. She will overview the current situation with employment\, focusing on the Nordics region\, and advise on how to navigate contracts and other forms of joining projects and studios. \nSecond guest is a recent recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award at LT Game Awards – game designer Dmitrijus Babičius. His talk will cover several areas where video games and board game industries interconnect and how experiences in the the latter helped to learn a few things about the former. \nFinal guest is games producer at CHARK Studio – Vaidas Gecevičius. DESCRIPTION:April 17 will be a milestone day in games history in Lithuania – MO Museum will open the first-ever exhibition dedicated to games in our country! GamePlay – Playing for Impact will invite you to play\, reflect\, and learn more about the multifaceted forms that video games can take.  \nThis exhibition is a product of a collaboration with the ZKM | Center for Arts and Media in Karlsruhe\, Germany and is an adaptation of their acclaimed gaming exhibition “zkm_gameplay. the next level”. This exhibition at MO Museum focuses on three key areas: games that push creative and aesthetic boundaries\, games that address current social and political issues\, and games that foster empathy through personal narratives. \nIt’s great to note that our industry also helped to bring this opportunity to Lithuania – Nordcurrent became the major exhibition partner\, and other partners include Aras Pranckevičius\, Renaldas Zioma and Sergey Avetikov.  \nMore about the exhibition here.

DESCRIPTION:It is time for our final event of the year\, which traditionally is a meetup dedicated to computer graphics and digital art! We’re going to host it on December 12 in a modern and spacious hall of Cyber City\, located at Švitrigailos 34 B in Vilnius. \nOur first guest is Laura Usaite\, a BAFTA-nominated VFX Producer and current MD at Vine FX. She leads a talented team of 70 at a UK-based visual effects production studio. She oversees the creation of VFX for high-end TV shows\, including Paris Has Fallen\, War of the Worlds\, and The Witcher. During her talk\, Laura will share valuable insights into the behind-the-scenes aspects of visual effects production. \nOur second guest is Greta Zokaitytė\, a freelance game artist who worked with several studios such as Estoty\, No Brakes Games and currently SneakyBox. Her creative field is everything 2D: starting with concept art and finishing with 2D assets\, UI\, promo materials. Greta also created illustrations for board games\, and her own comic book Floating Minds. She’s also a regular participant in game jams\, having contributed to several notable projects and event’s visual identity. Greta will talk about how to look at given constraints in any task and use them creatively. \nOur third guest is Lukas Gecevičius\, a founder of creative digital experiences house LEVEL ELEVEN STUDIO and creator of concept world Aetherways\, whose aesthetics and imagery were part of this year’s GameOn visual identity. DESCRIPTION:The beginning of summer means time for a meetup dedicated to computer graphics and digital art! We’re going to host it in a very fitting venue – the National Gallery of Art (NDG)\, on June 13. \nOur first guest is Kęstutis Rinkevičius\, who has been working with 3D art for almost 18 years\, including such renowned series as Total War and Fable! Currently\, he’s a principal character artist at Omeda Studios\, working on a third person action MOBA called Predecessor. You can find his work at https://www.artstation.com/kestas He will talk about the specifics of creating 3D characters for games. \nOur second guest is Indre Selenyte. She is a co-founder\, creative director\, and character artist at Pepi Play. She is also a lecturer and founder of the Fundamentals of Interactive Storytelling / Digital Game Development program in Vilnius Academy of Arts. Indrė will talk about how game artists can benefit from formal education and possibly become better at what they do. \nOur final guest is Motiejus Viltrakis\, a senior graphics QA and technical artist from Unity\, where he has been working for more than five years. He will give a short intro for several features such as Path Tracing\, Adaptive Light Probes\, Clouds and Water systems.
